Frédérique Constant proudly sponsored the 40th Annual Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance. Celebrating its 40th anniversary with the Riva Aquarama as the Marque Class, a collection of nearly 100 antique wooden gentleman’s Runabout sports boats gathered once again at the height of summer along the docks of the Sierra Boat Company in Carnelian Bay, California, to compete for top honors in multiple categories.Frédérique Constant, as the official watch partner of the event, donated several timepieces from its best-selling Runabout Collection to award the “Best of Show” categories.

At the same time, Frédérique Constant stayed true to its charitable homage, by working with the event management running a raffle. Proceeds benefit a Lake Tahoe marine-based non-profit selected by the Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation.

Theme of this year’s edition was “Riva Aquarama”. The most famous of Carlo Riva’s designs, the Aquarama has become, over time, more than just a boat. It is celebrated as a nautical legend in its own right. Its evocative name perhaps assured its mythical status, and is derived in part from the widescreen “Cinerama” movie format, popular in the early 1960s, which is echoed by the boat’s wide windshield.“Tiger”, the 1969 27’ Riva Aquarama #333 with a 220HP 8 Cylinder Crusader engine, owned by David & Diane Paul of Los Angeles, CA was the winner in the “Marque Class Best of Show” and “Best Overall of Show” categories.
